5 Stars Best TV at a Great Price
I’ve had this TV for some time now, so this review is based on some experience. First, I’m still extemely satisified with the TV. Everything is crisp, colors pop without being too fake. I set my settings according to the C-Net review and it’s great. I use an OPPO DVD player for upscaling my regular DVDs since nothing else is as good and every review I ever read uses the OPPO as their benchmark for upscaling (for good reason). Takes two people to hang on the wall, but you don’t have to be musclemen to do it – it’s actually pretty light, just too big for one person to grab hold of.

Bought from the Amazon shop (I personally have had issues ordering electronics from other shops outside the official Amazon shop) and it was delivered white glove. they took it out, set it up, ensured it worked, etc, etc. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this set to anyone. Since the Pioneer Elite Kuro is no longer being manufactured, this is now the TOP in it’s field. BTW, just my take, I don’t really see any difference between this set and the Kuro except about $3000. :)

5 Stars Something you ought to know!
We have had our Panasonic TH58PZ800U for about 4 months. We rate it five stars for the best reasons listed here by other reviewers. However there is one thing that is very important: YOU MUST PLUG IT DIRECTLY INTO A WALL SOCKET. We had purchased a Monster surge protector/power stabilizer, the top of the line, and upon startup of the television the TV would just make a clicking sound and not start. We contacted Panasonic, and after about a week of pressure they sent a local technician and he diagnosed, by osmosis, that it would have to be the power board that was bad. He didn’t open the TV up. About a week later he came and replaced the power board Panasonic had sent. This did not solve the problem. He then said that if it was not that board it must be the other one since there are only two main boards in there. About three-and-a-half weeks later he showed up with the next power board. opened up it’s box, said there was no way it could fix the TV, and left. I became angry. After about three days of calls the Panasonic Service Rep in the area called me and we talked. He immediately asked how I had the TV plugged in. I told him it was plugged into a Monster surge protector. He asked what the amp rating was on it and what the amp requirement was on the television. He told me that the initial startup required more current than the Monster could supply so plug it directly into the wall. Lo-and-behold — NO PROBLEMS! — So, again, you must plug it directly into a wall socket. I hope this helps others who may hear the infamous clicking sound over and over again upon startup.

1 Star Dead Pixels
Be wary of Panasonic plasma. I had mine under two years and voltage and dead pixels were apparent. They won’t offer an extended warranty either because it is over the time limit!

5 Stars woweee!
I bought this Panasonic to replace my Vizio 46 inch EDTV. I was very satisfied with the Vizio. I just wanted a bigger screen. Man, oh man! I got a whole lot more than just a bigger screen! The picture is AMAZING. The sound ROCKS. I have Direct TV and the picture is much clearer and sharper than it was on the Vizio. I also have an Over the Air Digital Antenna which I connected directly to the Panasonic. When I watch over the air digital broadcast the picture is amazing…but when I watch over the air High Definition the picture is beyond amazing. I am so spoiled by this TV, that I can barely watch any other TV in the house. If you aren’t watching this TV…you ain’t living!

5 Stars Review # 100 Gives This TV 5 Stars
I read almost all 99 of the reviews on this TV while trying to decide on what to get. I ended up with this 58 in plasma and I couldn’t be happier. Not only is the TV great right out of the box, but the box itself was engineered great and this TV is easy to unpack and set up.

I have only had this for 1 week, but it is perfect. Great picture, great sound, plenty of inputs, you will like this TV.
