User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars good anntenna
Looked all over for an antenna that would receive all frequencies and didn’t need constant adjustment. Rabbit-ear styles, regardless of claims, need daily adjustment. They can work perfect one day and the next day will not, even though it is the same station and the antenna hasn’t been touched. Very frustrating.

The Wineguard 2002 worked much better just setting it atop the entertainment center. Started seeing a couple stations I hadn’t seen since June. I then mounted it in the attic over the garage where my old antenna was. Works great, with very, very minimal signal loss. Although I do live in an area that has all stations in either the yellow or green zone. It does need a little bit of directional aiming for best reception. But I haven’t had to touch it since the day I installed it.

Too bad the gov’t doesn’t provide coupons for digital antennas. They’re really a necessity in most cases. This antenna I feel is the best value I found.

4 Stars Great mid range OTA antenna
Pros – excellent reception at about 15-25 miles. Easy to install – no aiming. Gets ALL HD channels from 2-… Many others that claim to be HD only get 6-…. Does not need the amplifier for one TV ( cable about 30 feet). Haven’t tested for 2 or more.

Cons – not so pretty. More obvious than a conventional antenna.

2 Stars Highly overrated
The antenna performs far below my expectations.

A conventional medium sized yagi antenna far outperforms this antenna. The person who spec’ed this antenna was obviously a “pie-in-the-sky” kind of guy.

I would not buy another or recommend it to a friend.

5 Stars Excellent upgrade for VHF+UHF HD
I had been quite happy with my Antennas Direct ClearStream4 up until the ‘digital transition’, when many of my local stations switched back to VHF frequencies. The CS4 just couldn’t pull them in quite well enough. I was about to add a ClearStream5 and a combiner when I ran across this antenna, and decided to give it a shot. I’m now using the MetroStar all on it’s own, and it pulls in every channel available, even the ones on the fringes. It’s mounted in the attic of my garage (more accurately laying across a few 2×4’s), and I’m about 20 miles from the nearest transmitter.

Highly recommend it!

3 Stars Works reasonably well.
I pick up local channels within 15-30 miles. There are occasional glitches (momentary Sound or picture drop-outs, or pixelation); but those problems have become far less since stations have gone all digital.

All in all, I prefer it to big, amplified Yagi’s, and “messing” with rotators, and possibly over-loading signals to the closer channels.
